Godrej Agrovet Ltd launched its 6 Week Chicken brand in Bangalore on December 18, 1998. The branded meat is that of 6-week-old dressed chicken as against the usual one of 7-8 weeks. Depending on the brand's performance in Bangalore, Godrej Agrovet Ltd will extend it to other towns and cities. Godrej Agrovet Ltd is assisting 40 supervised farms with feeds and other needs in Bangalore. (tsm)

CK BIRLA TO SELL ENTIRE STAKE IN CAR JV TO GM
Article Abstract:
The CK Birla group has decided to divest its entire 50 percent stake in GM India (GMI), its joint venture with General Motors. General Motors (GM), which already had management control in GMI, will now be the sole owner of the company. GMI, which manufactures the Opel Astra car, will get increased investments from GM with new models like Corsa expected to be launched later in 1999. (khr)
